Professional Practice 1: Event Attendance, Reflection, and Evaluation
Provides a comprehensive overview of the events industry, enabling students to understand its structure, scale and professional context. Students develop the ability to analyse industry trends, evaluate best practice and interpret key developments shaping the sector. The unit equips learners with the insight and critical understanding required to navigate and respond to the evolving events landscape.
Develops students’ understanding of the core processes and components that underpin successful event management. Gain a strong understanding of how events are structured, planned and delivered within professional industry frameworks. The unit equips learners with the knowledge required to apply systematic approaches to event planning and execution in real-world contexts.
Explores the critical role of venue selection and supplier coordination in successful event delivery. Develops the expertise to assess, compare and evaluate venues and vendors, gaining insight into professional selection processes and decision-making criteria. Ensures learners build a comprehensive understanding of the venue and supplier landscape within the events industry and how to work effectively within it.
Enables students to gain direct exposure to real-world event environments and professional practice. Students develop the ability to observe, critically analyse and evaluate event structures, delivery and strategic approaches, translating their insights into professional written evaluations. By bridging academic learning with industry experience, the unit strengthens students’ analytical skills, industry awareness and professional development.
Beyond the Qualification
Event School Electives
On this programme, students complete an Event School elective designed to deepen sector insight, explore specialist areas and support individual career goals. The elective provides additional professional enrichment, ensuring flexibility and relevance to meet industry sector needs as diverse as sports to weddings, festivals to corporate, branding activations to luxury events, conferences, exhibitions, music and social events.

Professional CPD Certified Diploma
Alongside the Advanced Diploma, students complete an additional CPD-certified professional skills diploma focused on end-to-end event delivery. This provides practical, start-to-finish skills in planning and managing events from concept to completion, ensuring graduates leave with professional capability alongside strong product, process and industry knowledge.​​
