Meet Lauren, an inspiring student who chose to advance her career in the vibrant heart of London with The Event School London. Enrolling in our Diploma in Event Management course, Lauren brought with her a clear ambition to refine her skills, build on her experience, and deepen her understanding of the industry.
With in-person classes led by Lecturers Nick Oxborrow, Siobhan Craven-Robins, Dave Lewis, Lauren Spencer and Emma Purvis her classes were based at the contemporary Novotel London Excel. Lauren immersed herself fully in the experience of learning, connecting, and growing as an events professional.
The Diploma in Event Management is designed to provide a comprehensive exploration of the event world—combining strategic insights with practical skills, all delivered in an engaging, hands-on environment.
With intentionally small class sizes, our students benefit from personalised guidance, close support, and direct access to our expert tutors. Lauren was one of those individuals who thrived in this setting, bringing energy, professionalism and a genuine passion to every session.
One of the highlights of the course is our unique approach to learning beyond the classroom.
Lauren had the opportunity to explore and analyse some of London’s most iconic event venues, including the historic and unique venue space on the Cutty Sark, the elegant Queen’s House, leading exhibition venue Olympia London in Kensington, and the exclusive Lansdowne Club in Mayfair.
These site visits provide our students with real-world context and a deeper appreciation for venue operations, client expectations and logistical planning.
It’s been a privilege to watch Lauren grow in capability and confidence, embracing every opportunity the course presented. Her drive, curiosity, and commitment to professional development exemplify what we aim to inspire in every student who joins us. We’re incredibly proud to have played a role in her journey and look forward to seeing where her career takes her next.
