British Educational Travel Association (BETA) networking event

We believe that education and travel are two of the most powerful forces for shaping futures. Last week, we were delighted to attend an inspiring British Educational Travel Association (BETA) networking event – a celebration of all that is exceptional and impactful about the youth travel sector.

Held at The Good Hotel – a social enterprise that champions sustainable solutions and social mobility – the evening brought together leaders, educators, and innovators from across the study abroad and educational travel landscape.

It was a dynamic reminder that when young people travel, they do more than visit new places – they expand their perspectives, build confidence, and discover new possibilities for themselves and their futures.

A highlight of the evening was the launch of a new book spotlighting how youth travel businesses can build loyalty to destinations and contribute to a more globally minded generation.

We were particularly inspired by Stephen Lowy, CEO of AES | Experiential Learning & Living, whose journey from backpacker in Southeast Asia to educational travel leader perfectly captured the power of meaningful experiences away from home. His story is a testament to how travel not only broadens horizons but also shapes character and ambition.

At The Event School London, we see this impact daily. Our students come from across the UK and around the world to immerse themselves in the vibrant energy of London – one of the world’s most exciting event capitals. But their journey doesn’t stop there. Through study tours, industry visits, and curated experiences beyond the capital, our learners also explore the richness of British culture and life across the regions – gaining insights and memories that last far beyond the classroom.

We are proud to offer programmes that combine practical education with the opportunity to travel, connect and grow. These experiences don’t just enhance a CV – they change lives.

For many of our students, studying in London is their first time in the city, and often, their first time travelling independently. We ensure that journey is one of discovery, support, and inspiration.

Our thanks to BETA, Anna Glinkowska and The Good Hotel, and all the passionate professionals who made the evening such a success. Events like these reaffirm why we do what we do – empowering people through education and travel to realise their potential and reimagine their future.
