Some learning moments stay with you long after the visit ends. This was one of them!
One of our favourite photos from 2025 captures a quiet but powerful scene. With Lecturer Siobhan Craven-Robins seated in the main chair and students gathered around her taking in the atmosphere of one of London’s most unexpected event spaces.
The setting is the original Masonic Temple inside Andaz London Liverpool Street, often described as the hotel’s best kept secret.

This Grecian style temple dates back to 1912 and remains one of the most distinctive venues in the capital. Stepping inside feels like entering another world. Marble surfaces reflect the light, the gold zodiac ceiling draws your eye upwards, and the original masonic thrones remind you that this room was designed with symbolism, ceremony and impact in mind. It is not a space you forget easily.

For our students, this was not about admiring a beautiful room as visitors. It was about understanding the space as event professionals.
How the layout influences guest experience.
How heritage features shape creative decisions.
How atmosphere, history and storytelling can be woven into contemporary event design.
These site visits sit at the heart of our teaching approach.
Learning events in London means learning in context. It means standing in real venues, asking real questions, and imagining how these spaces could be transformed for weddings, brand launches, private celebrations or cultural events.
Discussions happen naturally when you are surrounded by the very details that define premium event experiences.

Moments like this also show the value of learning alongside industry practitioners. With guidance from experienced lecturers, students are encouraged to think critically, creatively and commercially. They begin to see venues not just as rooms, but as opportunities.
These images capture everything we believe in. Experiential learning. Immersive environments. Education that prepares students for the realities of working in high calibre event spaces.

A genuine favourite from 2025, and a reminder of why learning in London, in real venues, makes such a difference.
