VENUE MANAGEMENT ELECTIVE
Venue Management requires professional organisational skills, and an ability to manage a wide range of events into a venue, arena, or stadium. By choosing this elective path, you'll learn about: common venue operational and staffing structures; what's important to creating a destination that will attract event organisers, associations, sponsors and attendees; venue maintenance, security, marshalling and other operational teams; catering and hospitality provision; technology for venue operations and management and about trends in venue design and operations.

WEDDING & SOCIAL EVENTS ELECTIVE
Working on more personal events and with individuals as clients can require a very different approach to working with corporate clients. Facilitating our Wedding & Social Events subjects is Siobhan Craven-Robins - the UK’s leading Wedding Co-ordinator. Siobhan's beautiful weddings, parties and social events have featured in Hello, OK! and bridal magazines around the world. Her famous clients include Joan Collins, Barbara Windsor, Greg Kinnear, Sacha Mascolo-Tarbuck, Des O’Connor and Ronni Ancona. Undertaking this elective pathway with Siobhan will bring additional skills in wedding planning design, client consultation, wedding business start-up, and wedding and social event specific traditions and practices.

SPORTS EVENT MANAGEMENT ELECTIVE
Our sports event management subjects are delivered across venues at ExCeL London (home to many of London 2012 Olympic events) with specialist sessions at London's leading sports venues and locations. Emerge yourself within the sports and event industry with a specialist subjects led by sports event industry professionals. Through this elective pathway you'll learn about sporting industry associations and organisations, how to work with sports organising committees, major sports event planning and coordination, sports event ticketing, marketing and promotions and about opportunities on the global sports circuit.

LEADERSHIP AND MANAGEMENT ELECTIVE
Whether you’re at an early stage of your career and aiming for promotion or entering the event industry for the first time - our professional leadership development elective stream can improve your career prospects. Specific management skills provide strong supervisory foundations and transforming your leadership skills will allow you to become a leader others want to follow. You'll cover business types and organisational structures, HR skills for line managers, the basics of financial management, project management, building and motivating teams and leadership development.

FESTIVALS & CULTURAL EVENTS ELECTIVE
A specialist field and an ideal elective pathway for those wishing to work more closely with festivals, outdoor events and cultural and community festivities, parades, and festivals. On this pathway you'll learn more about establishing the feasibility to stage festivals and cultural events, festival and cultural event associations and organisations, finding and progressing in festival and cultural event careers, festival and cultural event trends, cultural policy and planning, searching and securing festival venues and locations, developing attractive festival programmes and about ticketing and promotions.

DIGITAL MARKETING ELECTIVE
Moving into a career that focuses on the marketing and promotion of events requires specialist marketing skills, especially in the field of digital marketing. With this elective pathway, subjects include Social Media for Business, Email as a Promotional Tool for Business, Digital Marketing Review, Understanding Search Engine Optimisation for Business, and Digital Marketing for Business. You'll also deep dive into event sponsorship for online and hybrid events, sourcing and researching marketing tech, the importance of testimonials, for digital credibility, customers as online brand ambassadors and online networking skills.

LUXURY BRAND MANAGEMENT ELECTIVE
The luxury brands sector encompasses the multiple industry sectors and products including events, fashion and retail industry, as well as tourism, hospitality, food and beverage, film, digital media, dance, music and theatre. This elective introduces the concept of luxury and what it means to a range of markets and cultures. Learn how luxury brands stand out from the crowd and successfully communicate what they stand for. Understand why Intellectual Property and Trademarks need to be considered and discover the importance of identity and customer loyalty to a luxury brand. Learn about the different approaches required in the management of branded luxury goods and the provision of luxury experiences and how sustainability now needs to be a concerning factor in developing and marketing luxury brands.

SUSTAINABLE POLICY AND PRACTICES ELECTIVE
Many industries including the event sector are embracing sustainable management policies, but it can be challenging task to implement these policies in practice. Many managers indicate they want to gain a better understanding of important topics like developing a strategic approach, creating an environmental plan, identifying key environmental issues, sustainable supply chains, reducing their carbon footprint, balancing priorities, setting measurements and evaluating results. Organisations are also increasingly interested how they can use their efforts in sustainability to positively market their services, products, venue or event to a range of stakeholders. This elective examines the fundamentals of sustainability and how to apply this to a workplace, including how personal practice in sustainability can influence and encourage others.

DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION & CHANGE MANAGEMENT ELECTIVE
The pace of technology evolution has had a significant impact on individuals and teams and the way they behave in any modern-day organisation. Getting change management right is key when implementing successful digital and organisational transformation - of internal and customer-facing processes. Managing digital transformation is rarely the sole responsibility of technical experts. Multiple managers and supervisors will be called upon to explain to their teams why change is happening, and then held responsible for implementing new practices. Learn how change management practices can support digital transformation and how to link those practices to transformation strategies. Discover how to foresee common challenges to digital transformation and why you should develop strong communication channels with stakeholders and relate change efforts to their motivations.

ENTREPRENEURSHIP AND BUSINESS START-UPS ELECTIVE
In a globalised world with constant change and technological advancement, entrepreneurial skills are absolutely vital.Whether your goal is to one day start your own business, or you'd like to offer a future employer and entrepreneurial thinking, being able to create and develop new business and product ideas is a valued skill. On this elective you'll learn to understand different types of business ventures, understand how small business activities impact the economy, analyse traits, skills and motivational drivers of successful entrepreneurs and explore factors that influence decisions made by start-ups. As well as practicing idea-generation and evaluation techniques, you'll learn how to network, influence, and pitch your ideas effectively and the practical steps and considerations needed to start a business.

Learn more about career paths and opportunities in event management, event organisations and associations, risk assessment, health and safety for events, working with corporate clients, measurements of event success and event evaluation.
