Scholarship applications close 31 March 2026 - or when places are filled.

If you are looking for the best event management course in London - whether that means a degree in event management, a postgraduate qualification, a recognised degree alternative, or a Masters-level route - the question of cost is never far from the surface. Neither is the question of quality. What will you actually learn? Who will teach you? And when you finish, will you be employable?

These are the right questions to ask. After 21 years of delivering professional events education, we have answered them for thousands of students. This article sets out how our scholarship programme makes that education more financially accessible, and why we believe the experience of studying events face-to-face in London - with educators who are still actively working at the top of the industry- represents something genuinely different.

What We Are, and Why It Matters

The Event School London has been training aspiring events professionals since 2005. Our base is at the Novotel London Excel on Royal Victoria Docks, in one of London's most dynamic event districts. Excel London - just 160 metres away- is one of Europe's largest event and exhibition centres, and it forms part of our teaching environment. So do iconic venues and landmark locations across the capital. London is not a backdrop to your studies here. It is the curriculum.

Over 21 years, 93% of our graduates have gone on to successful careers in the events industry. It is the result of a deliberately designed programme - small cohorts, industry-connected lecturers, hands-on excursions, and the kind of one-to-one support that large universities rarely have the capacity to offer.

We are a specialist institution. We teach events - at depth, and in London, which remains one of the world's leading centres for the meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions industry, for live entertainment, for brand experience and for corporate events.

The Courses: What Are Your Options?

We offer a range of full-time programmes for September 2026, from advanced diplomas and degree alternatives through to postgraduate-level study.

Postgraduate in Events Option - the ATHE  L7 Diploma in Events Management is designed for graduates who want to enter the events industry at a professional level quickly. It delivers postgraduate-level study in a concentrated format, taught by practitioners who are simultaneously working at the top of their field.

Degree Alternative in Event Management  - the ATHE L4-6 Diplomas in Events Management Pathway is built for those who want the depth of knowledge and professional preparation associated with a university degree, but in a specialist, industry-integrated environment. This is not a shortcut - it is a different model of higher education, one in which your lecturers are producers, directors, and senior event professionals, and your study visits take you into the venues and events where theory becomes practice.

Advanced Diploma in Event Management is ideal for career changers looking for rigorous professional training to building careers in a range of fields - Choose a speclaist elective to tailor your pgramme to meet your career goals - business events & brand experiences, conferences, exhibitions, festivals, outdoor events, event styling, luxury events and more.

Advanced Diploma in Wedding and Event Planning is designed for those focused on the social events sector. With a strong emphasis on weddings, your elective choice also offers options like luxury events, party planning, venue and event styling, event catering, entrepreneurship and digital marketing or PR to support your preferences.

If you are searching for a Bachelor's in event management, a Masters in event management, or a university-level event planning degree, it is worth understanding how our programmes compare.

  • They are structured around current industry practice, not academic convention.

Many of our students find this a significantly stronger preparation for a career in events than a broader university degree - but the right choice depends on your goals, your learning style, and what you value most in a programme.

The Teaching: Why This Is Not Like Studying Anywhere Else

Every lecturer at The Event School London is a working industry professional. Not someone who used to work in events. Not someone who consults occasionally. Someone who is, right now, planning, producing or directing events - and who also happens to be an exceptional educator with consistently excellent student feedback.

This matters enormously. The events industry moves quickly. Trends in sustainability, technology, attendee experience and hybrid formats shift year on year. The knowledge your lecturers bring into the room is current because they are living it. When they talk about supplier relationships, venue negotiations, client briefs or production logistics, they are drawing on projects that are happening now.

Alongside classroom teaching, you will take part in site visits and industry excursions led by your lecturers - giving you access to venues, events and behind-the-scenes perspectives that would be impossible to replicate in a conventional lecture theatre.

You will attend industry networking events and experience the sector from the inside while you are still studying. This is not work experience tacked on at the end of the course. It is woven through everything.

Each student also receives individual one-to-one academic tutoring throughout the programme, and access to career mentoring designed to support your progression into employment. Our 93% graduate success rate reflects the seriousness of this commitment.

Your remaining fees - or first instalment if you are on a payment plan - are then due one month before the course starts.

No specific academic qualifications are required to apply for the scholarships, but applicants should meet the entry requirements for their chosen course. Scholarships are merit-based and assessed on the strength of your application: your motivation, your career goals, your readiness for professional study, and - in the case of the Digital Ambassador Scholarship - your potential as a content creator representing the school.

A Final Word on Why This Matters

There is a version of events education that treats students as numbers. Lectures delivered to large cohorts, limited access to practitioners, generic employability support.

We have built something deliberately different, and we have had 21 years to refine it. Small cohorts. Practitioners as educators. London as a living classroom. Individual academic support and career mentoring as standard. A 93% graduate success rate that we are proud to stand behind.

Our scholarship programme exists because we believe that access to excellent, specialist events education should not be determined solely by financial circumstance. If you have the ambition and commitment, we want to find a way to make this work for you.

Applications close 31 March. Places are limited.
