Our full-time Higher Diploma in Event Management offers school leavers and young career changers far more than a qualification—it provides a transformational, hands-on journey that prepares students for a meaningful and successful career in the dynamic world of events.
For parents, knowing that your child is receiving not only quality education but also the support, structure and personal development they need to thrive is everything.
If your child is considering this full-time course with us in London in September, here’s why you can feel confident they’re in exceptional hands.
1. Extensive face-to-face teaching time
In today’s higher education landscape, many providers offer minimal in-person contact—some as little as 8 to 12 hours a week for just 20 weeks a year. At The Event School London, we believe that in-person teaching is critical, particularly for younger students building both technical skills and confidence.
Our full-time 1-year course offers 30 weeks of face-to-face learning, with classes every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 10am to 4pm. This structured and immersive timetable ensures students receive consistent guidance, real-time feedback, and essential hands-on experience.
Plus, they will also complete a one-month industry internship at the end of their course, putting their skills into practice in a professional setting and significantly boosting their employability potential as their course nears completion.
2. Hands-on, career-focused training from day one
We are a vocational school with a clear purpose: to prepare our students for employment in the event industry. That means learning by doing, not just listening.
Throughout the course, students will:
Participate in 60 hours of industry practice
Plan and deliver a live event, assessed by industry professionals
Work with real-world venues, suppliers and briefs
Gain practical experience in logistics, planning, budgeting, marketing, venue and supplier coordination
Every module is designed to mirror professional practice, giving your child the skills, mindset and confidence to step straight into the workplace.
3. Small class sizes and personalised learning
At The Event School London, your child will never be lost in a sea of faces or sitting anonymously in a large lecture theatre. Our small class sizes ensure each student receives individualised support and meaningful interaction with tutors and mentors who genuinely care about their progress.
This close-knit environment allows us to:
Offer personalised teaching and feedback
Spot early when a student may need extra support
Ensure all learners feel seen, heard and supported
Create a strong sense of community and belonging
Smaller groups also mean access to more exclusive opportunities, including curated industry events, networking showcases, and practical projects that wouldn’t be possible in a larger cohort.
4. A connected and dynamic learning environment
Our weekly timetable is designed to help students feel connected while developing a broad professional outlook.
Tuesdays involve larger group sessions with students from various course pathways—event management, wedding planning, sports events, venue management and more. This encourages fresh thinking, diverse perspectives, and larger friendship groups.
Wednesdays focus on core specialisms, where students apply their learning in smaller groups, aligned to their core programme learning outcomes
Thursdays are elective days—students mix again with peers from other courses, based on shared interests and chosen modules.
This balance of structure, variety, and individual focus supports both personal development and professional preparation.
5. Electives that personalise the experience and sharpen career focus
Every individual has different goals, interests and strengths. That’s why our one-year, full-time course includes six elective modules, allowing each student to tailor their qualification and stand out to future employers.
With 21 elective options to choose from—ranging from event design, brand experiences and luxury events to digital skills, PR, leadership and sustainability—students can either specialise deeply or explore broadly.
We guide students in choosing the right electives to match their career vision. These modules don’t just enhance employability; they make each student’s course unique and help them tell a powerful story when applying for roles.

6. A world-class location
Studying in London places your child at the epicentre of the global events industry. As one of the world’s leading capitals for culture, sport, fashion, business, hospitality and international conferences, London offers unparalleled access to opportunities, venues and industry leaders.
Our students regularly attend professional events, gain exposure to iconic venues, and build networks that will serve them for years to come. A London education carries international weight and is a powerful asset on any CV.
While we use the global city of London as an extended campus for excursions, showcases, site tours etc, the majority of classes (Tue-Thu) take place in venues on the Royal Victoria Docks where Excel London (International Exhibition, Conference and Event Centre) sits at the heart of the area's event scene. Our main venue for our September 2025 intake will be the Novotel London Excel and we take full advantage of the number and range of events and shows on our doorstep at Excel (approx 200m from the Novotel!)
With our closest station, Custom House, on the Elizabeth Line and DLR, getting to and from class couldn't be easier.
7. Exceptional industry connections and employability
The Event School London is embedded in the events sector. Our faculty, guest speakers, and assessors are all active professionals in the field. This means our training is always up to date—and relevant to real-world demands.
We have a 92% success rate in placing graduates into event roles within months of completion. Many of our students receive job offers through internships or through introductions made during the course.
Our network spans local and international event companies, agencies, venues, and major brands—giving your child a real head start.
8. Personal mentorship and academic support
Your child’s wellbeing and development matter deeply to us. That’s why every student is matched with two dedicated advisors:
A Career Mentor, who meets monthly to help them explore the event industry, refine their goals, and prepare for job applications.
An Academic Tutor, who meets with them twice a month to ensure they understand the curriculum, stay on track with assignments, and are supported in their learning.
In addition, our lecturers, coaches and administrative staff are committed to creating a nurturing, inclusive, and supportive learning environment—where students feel encouraged, challenged, and able to flourish.
9. Transferable skills that open doors beyond events
Even if your child decides to pursue a different career in the future or continue their studies, their time with us will have set them up for long-term success.
The skills developed on our courses are highly transferable and valued across a wide range of industries:
Project and time management
Budgeting and finance
Supplier sourcing and negotiation
Client and stakeholder communication
Team leadership and interpersonal skills
Our graduates have gone on to work not only in events, but also in marketing, HR, operations, PR, and business development. Others use their foundation with us as a springboard for further academic study, including business or communications degrees, with the added advantage of practical experience.
10. Safe, secure accommodation options
For parents of younger students especially, accommodation is often a concern. That’s why we partner with Londonist, a highly respected and award-winning provider of student accommodation in London.
We strongly recommend student residence living for full-time learners. These high-quality residences offer the perfect balance of independence and support, with safe environments, professional on-site staff, and the opportunity to meet other students from across the city.
It’s an ideal way for your child to feel settled and part of London’s vibrant student community.
We recommend Drapery Place in Aldgate for the best transport links both to classes on the Royal Docks and into the centre of town for sightseeing, culture and socialising! (And for its buzzy student vibe and dynamic location.) For a lower budget option, consider Station Court Residence (ask us to contact Londist on your behalf to access 44+ weeks at Station Court for £295 PW)
11. An investment with lasting returns
Committing to full-time education is a significant investment for families. But the return is real and measurable. With structured in-person learning, extensive practical experience, strong industry links, and tailored mentorship, our graduates are not only well-trained—they are workplace-ready.
They leave us with:
A respected qualification
A personalised portfolio of experience
Professional contacts
The confidence to succeed
Above all, they leave us with clarity, direction, and a sense of purpose.
Your child’s future begins with the right foundation
Choosing a course is about much more than picking a subject—it’s about placing your child in an environment that helps them grow into who they want to be. At The Event School London, we offer that environment: structured, supportive, inspiring and connected to the real world.
If your child has a passion for events—or simply loves to organise, create, collaborate or lead—there is no better place for them to begin their career journey.
