We are pleased to announce that Charlie Mussett, Major Events & Safety Specialist, has joined our Associate Teaching Team.
Having impressed our classes as a specialist guest speaker in 2020, we are delighted Charlie has joined us to further share his extensive knowledge and expertise with students on our events, and sports events, courses and MasterClasses
Charlie is a highly respected Events & Safety Professional with over 25 years’ experience in the project management and operational delivery of televised mass events across the UK. An experienced event planner & director, producing event safety plans for urban & greenfield sites, he created the operational & safety systems behind the UK's largest mass participation sports programme the Great Run series.
Along the way he's worked on events as diverse as the Tall Ships Race, football internationals, the first mass run in Ethiopia, events at Balmoral and on The Mall and has looked after the finish of the world's biggest half marathon - the Great North Run - for 20 years. Specialising in event operations and event safety, Charlie sees the two areas as being naturally collaborative rather than competitive, believing in improving best practice and the event experience by delivering planned, safe, sustainable projects.
2020 saw him make the move into freelance consultancy, providing safety advice & Covid-19 guidance to TV productions, event planning support to agencies and promoters, and lecturing & course content to a number of Universities.
