Amy Woodthorpe, Managing Director from Venues for Business, shared her expertise with our Certificate in Event Management course students today.
Introduced by course teacher, Ben Parker, Amy generously shared her knowledge and experience of venue search and selection with Ben's class. With Venues for Business an International Venue Finding Agency, Amy had a vast experience of the event industry to call upon and share with the class.
Amy is meticulous planner with over 13 years of stakeholder relationship building and project management experience within the event industry.
She started her events career in 2009 at Exclusive Collection hotel, Lainston House. Amy then worked full-time alongside various projects while gaining an international events degree. Amy has worked internationally (UK, Australia, The Netherlands, Saudi Arabia & Spain) in roles spanning across event operations, production, sponsorship and account management of both B2B & B2C events, ranging from 50 to 30,000 guests.
In March 2019, she bought 50% shares of established Venue sourcing agency, Venues For Business. She is proud to have kept the business afloat and have won various new client accounts during the pandemic. In 2022 she bought 100% shares of the company and became Managing Director.
