As another academic year comes to a close, I thought it an ideal time to reflect on some of the successes of past Certificate in Wedding Planning students.
The course attracts a variety of people: those wanting to start working in the industry and those wanting to set up their own business, as well as career-changers and industry people undertaking it as part of their CPD.
The 21-22 academic year saw us return to the real-life classroom, which felt quite joyous! The online courses have continued to be popular as well, meeting the needs of those who travelling to London is a challenge.
It’s been another year of meeting wonderful people with huge potential that the course has helped them reach. I relish in their well-deserved successes.

Akilah recently re-branded and launched her new website under her new business name With Akilah & Co to represent her expanding business that now caters for weddings across London and the home counties.
Akilah explains, ‘It is important to us that you (our future and present couples) are living your best life through all the planning and on the day. You deserve the best.
Our team is built from extraordinary freelancers. Everyone who is part of the team, is a highly experienced wedding planner with specialised skills.
We work mainly across London and the Home Counties, but we will go anywhere for our couples!
Events by Roberta Burcheri
Roberta recently rebranded as Events by Roberta Burcheri and launched her design service - Wedding Vibes.
Roberta wanted to utilise her natural artistic skills and also help couples who are struggling to envisage their wedding day look or theme.
‘We meticulously plan and design all stages of the wedding to ensure the couple’s dream vision doesn’t get lost in translation. On their first consultation many couples ask us to make their wedding look like their Pinterest boards. The truth is it doesn’t really work that way, but it’s a great starting point for inspiration. We curate their ideas and taste in art, travel, fashion etc so we define their aesthetic better than Pinterest, because now it’s their own.
Design is the voice of any creative project - it’s a tool that visualises the atmosphere and style before our couple’s wedding comes to life. It helps in understanding proposals, ideas and solutions and makes our clients feel in control of their planning and choices.
We offer 3 levels of detailed drawing - the most popular one is our Wedding Day Vibe: our couples get a digital illustration of their wedding ceremony or reception, drawn on their wedding venue, including all the elements they desire, with one revision included. They’ll receive it 3 weeks after our Zoom initial consultation, ready to be shown to all creative suppliers.'
Stressfree Weddings By SandraM
Sandra formed Stressfree Weddings by SandraM based between London and Austria and specialising in weddings in Austria.
Sandra says “2022 has seen a good start to the business with a busy 2023 ahead”.

‘After the town hall, we went up the mountain and had a ceremony there - all in the clouds. There were times when you couldn't see more than 3 metres. Very mystical!’

Marianna completed the course to give her an in-depth insight into wedding planning and to help her understand her clients. This year she launched her new business – The Social Studio
